I have heard that positive thinking really helps when you feel like you are getting sick. Is this true? if so how?

Im a little confused on this subject, because I know that in electricity: Like Poles repel each other and Opposite Poles attract each other. In the laws of attraction your mind/brain waves attracts like frequencies how is this possible if the mind/brain waves opperates on electricalty?
