Using the Law of Attraction for Weight Loss

The Secret, it is called. It lay practically dormant since its inception, long before the Knights of Templar and the Code named for a Tuscan Renaissance man, artist and inventor; long before any void of noble blood would know of its existence.

Then, because of a small, made-for-television movie produced for Australia’s Channel Nine, the secret was out.

Thank goodness, and a willing media.

Beth and I have been practicing, living, and teaching The Secret – its true name is the Law of Attraction – for ten years when the rest of the world caught on. And we whole-heartedly believe that if there is one true law that can heal the world and put and keep all of us who inhabit it back on track, it is the Law of Attraction. It is the one, true earthly (actually, Universal) law that fits all, because the pure tenet of this ancient “New Thought” is that everyone – regardless of race, religion, geography, or political ideology – deserves a happy, secure life where all wants and needs are available for all.

Sounds good – too good, we know… we hear it all the time. Yet if this law – and it is a law, not unlike any other physical law of the Universe – has no bearing in everyday reality and human existence, why has it spanned ages and appeared to work for some of the most revered in our societies? It has clearly ignored borders, religions, and political affiliations over the eons it has been recognized.

Is there something to it?

Yes, there is. Just ask us, and the hundreds of thousands around the world who have connected with all that is good through the Wonderful Law of Attraction. And if you don’t believe us, just ask Oprah.

American cultural icon Oprah Winfrey has openly hailed the Law of Attraction on her highly rated syndicated talk show, as well as in print, on her radio network, and as a guest on the Larry King Show. She is the walking, talking poster child of the Law of Attraction, and she has the successful, happy, giving, and full life that emotes everything that is The Secret. And like all who truly practice the Law of Attraction – present company included – she wants everyone including you to know about it.

A WEIGHTY LOA QUESTION

At our many lectures, meetings, and seminars that we appear at each year, the inevitable question is raised by an audience member. “Can I lose weight with the Law of Attraction?” The answer is a clear and concise Yes!

How do we know this? Because using the Law of Attraction, and the Universal methods of thought to emotion to end result, Beth lost 50 pounds and I lost over 100 pounds. When I began using the LOA for weight loss, I weighed in at 440 pounds. And I continue to lose and manage my weight. My Law of Attraction success in this, my most lifelong troubling struggle, erased any atom of lingering doubt I ever harbored concerning LOA.

First, in case you are a little confused by The Secret, and are perhaps new to the idea of it, we’d better explain how the Law of Attraction works. Everything in the physical world where we exist vibrates. EVERYTHING whether it be dirt, a tree, a human being—these all emit a vibration. Even a rock vibrates—albeit at a much slower and barely perceptible pace—and a human being vibrates at a far more rapid rate.

These vibrational patterns translate to everything that you are feeling, which moves the Universe to, in turn, attract exactly what those feelings are. So if you are thinking (feeling) about how angry you may be at someone, the Universe takes that emotion and emits (returns) directly back to you what you happen to be feeling. You always attract exactly what you are feeling. THIS IS THE LAW OF ATTRACTION.

So if you are feeling wonderful, and thinking about how great your day is, and you are happy and grateful for that wonderful day, the Universe attracts (returns) to you exactly what you are feeling —more days of joy and wonder. What could be better than that? However, as is usually the case, there are a few problems with us humans when it comes to attracting what we desire.

In society today, people usually don’t listen to their intuition. We instead rely on other people to tell us “what is.” It’s kind of like old fable, “The Emperor’s New Clothes,” when an entire kingdom was convinced that despite naked truth, they all agreed that His Majesty’s new clothes were all the rage — the living end! How often do we see our fellow citizens jump into line like lemmings to the sea, and how often do we accept the opinions of others as uncontestable fact? We think you would agree that the fashion mavens have accomplished that, much to the chagrin and disappointment of the fully two-thirds of the American public that cannot fit into the clothes they market.

It’s time that we listen to ourselves and stop listening to what is really just other people’s opinions telling you what to think. This brings us to our first, and most important, question that we will ask of you this lesson: Who are you losing this weight for? Is it for you? Is it for someone else? Are you losing it because you want to feel better, or do you simply want to lose a few pounds for a swimsuit that is calling your name?

The right answer — and in this case there is a right answer — is: FOR YOU. You must only lose weight for you. If you are not losing the weight for you, then you might as well grab a gallon of Baskin-Robbins and go sit in a corner with a big spoon and a TV remote control. It doesn’t matter what anyone thinks you should do. You must commit to losing the weight only for you.

If losing the weight will make you happy, then that is the biggest reason for you to lose the weight. Sure, losing weight for health reasons is always good and noble, but the main reason we want to help you to lose weight is because it will make you happy. See, that’s how the Law of Attraction works. It is all about what you desire; what will cause you to be happy. This, by the way, is not greedy… no matter what the Nay Sayers say. (And they DO love to say, say, say!) This is the Wonderful Law of Attraction, and to be able to create whatever life you want for your self is the Universe’s greatest gift to you.

DOWN GO THE POUNDS (OR KILOS!)

We were at a Wellness of the Mind retreat and we talked about the Law of Attraction and losing weight. There were many people there who lived their life through the Law of Attraction and, as always, there were people new to the LOA, and the usual weight loss questions were posed.

Weight loss through the Law of Attraction will take some of you a shorter amount of time, and for others it may take a little longer. It all depends on your mindset. LOVE yourself, ENJOY yourself, YOU are a wonderful person who creates your Universe. Isn’t that powerful? Your own body regenerates every second. You are a part of that. YOU can regenerate your body to be what you want, you can!

Maybe this is the week that you have a night that you treat yourself for just being you: The you that you are right now, and think about all the things that make YOU happy and joyous.

A doctor once asked Beth if she exercised and she said, “I walk about a half a mile each day.” The doctor replied, “Is that all? You need to exercise AT LEAST a mile each day!” Beth looked at the doctor and said, “Is that all? Are you kidding me? I didn’t move at all before. This half-mile is a big deal for me. When I am darn good and ready to go a mile, when I FEEL like I WANT to, then I will. I know that a half-mile is better than none at all, and my body knows it. Don’t make me try to feel bad. I’m proud of myself!”

Remember to continue doing what is working for you. Just those little steps help immensely over a year’s time, and if that ‘normal’ mind is feeling deprived, eat one bowl of popcorn instead of two, or eat half a candy bar instead of a whole one and save the rest for a couple of hours later. Your ‘normal’ mind will be appeased.

Listen to your body before you eat something. Sometimes it isn’t hungry, but we feed it anyway. ENJOY every bite! Try not to rip-snort through a whole meal in ten seconds flat. ENJOY every little thing that you put in your mouth and be thankful for that wonderful body of yours. You created it with help, and you can fine-tune it just as easily. Law of Attraction: Five Visualization Tips

How many times have you been in the middle of visualizing when your mind takes on a mind of its own and begins to wander? It jumps from the image you are focusing on, to and image that has nothing to do with your visualization. Your mind offers opinions on what to do about everything… everything but what you are trying to focus on and put energy towards. And before you know it, visualizing on what you desire becomes the last thing on your mind. This is a common problem for many people.

This once was a common occurrence for my husband, Lee and I. When we noticed just how common, we embarked on some experimental methods to create a solve that we felt could work. Lo and behold, we soon enjoyed having great success with uninterrupted visualizations, thereby obtaining positive and faster results through visualizing and the Law of Attraction.

Here are some helpful tips that just might help you tame your mind monkeys.

1. Get creative. If you are visualizing the same picture every night and day, they can soon become both repetitive and boring for you. In practicing the Law of Attraction, it’s important to see and feel what you want through visualization, but only if you are truly feeling whatever it is. If what you believe you desire has become boring, with a complete lack of feeling, change your visualization to something that makes you feel joyful. Even if it may be something different from what you have been visualizing previously. The good feelings will elicit good feelings back to you courtesy of the Universe.

2. Even though you can have whatever you desire through the Law of Attraction, sometimes your survival self has a hard time believing it. It tells you all the reasons why you couldn’t possibly do it this way or that. An easy way to stop the survival self from telling you it just can’t work is to generate visualizations that the survival self can understand and could possibly manifest. Here’s an example: A client of ours kept having problems with concentration through her “quiet” time. As we sat and deconstructed how she was visualizing, she would sigh repeatedly. When I asked her the source of her sighs, she told us that she just couldn’t believe that the Universe would send her $100,000.00 this year. Even though she believed wholeheartedly in the idea of the Law of Attraction, she just couldn’t imagine that this money would come to her.

So Lee told her this, “For right now, just right now, until you get comfortable with the numbers, tell me what is believable to you?”

Our client thought for a moment and then said, “Ten thousand dollars.”

Then I asked, “So you believe ten thousand dollars can come to you right now… even tomorrow?” She responded, in her opinion, that it wouldn’t be a problem at all. “Then visualize that number,” I suggested.

Then came the protest, “But I want more than ten thousand.”

Lee suggested she visualize on ten thousand until money starts coming in, and then reminded her that when her survival self sees it happen, it will be easier to visualize even more money.

Make sure to visualize what you do with the wealth as well. When you begin to feel how great it is to be taking a vacation with your family, and staying in the grandest of hotels, this evokes feelings of wealth. Remember, you have to believe that your desire is real, and that it is there for you now. If what you envision isn’t something you feel can happen, create a smaller picture until you are confident enough to know that you can have it all.

3. When there is a particularly important day on the horizon, or any day for that matter, visualize the end of that day first. When you awake in the morning, spend a few moments seeing the end of the day first. Create how you want your day to actually be by “reflecting” on the day that just started. See your meeting going exactly as you wanted it to, see the checks that came in the mail, and don’t forget to thank the Universe. By thanking the Universe before it happens, this tells the Universe that you know that it actually will. Visualize the end of day first thing every morning, and you will begin to see your days merge into the exact picture you intend.

4. When you just have “one of those days” where you just can’t concentrate on any form of visualization, then don’t. Just sit still and clear your mind and reflect thoughts of peace, and happiness. This will bring you peaceful and happy moments from the Universe, and will connect you with the All that Is. By just being quiet and still, you are moving closer to attaining your desire. This is the time when some great insights will arrive, as well.

5. Visualizing doesn’t require you to sit in one spot. A great visualization technique that Lee and I engage in is really simple, but extremely effective. When we come home after a long day of work, we just imagine that our life is exactly as we prefer it. We just become what it is that we desire.

For instance, if you desire a new home with brand new rugs and furnishings, then when you arrive home from work, see that your current home is entirely the new home you desire. The new rugs are there, the bank account is golden, and your mate is right there next to you, just as happy and content as you are. Just “being” can be just as effective as sitting on your bed meditating upon whatever you desire. Give it a try. It’s a lot of fun to take a look in your closet and imagine it full of brand new clothes complete with the tags.

These are just a few tips to help you move forward as you continue to attain what you desire through the Law of Attraction.

And just one more thing: If you do have a wandering mind monkey while visualizing, don’t beat yourself up over it. Each moment is a new moment to create and to just start up again. The more you visualize and let the mind chatter pass, the more proficient you will become in releasing the chatter as you only focus on your desires.

The Law of Attraction And Six Steps to Success

A lot of people do not believe in the law of attraction. Many of them have strong disagreement with the law. Not many people do know what the law of attraction is. A number of people guess the essence of the law by the name of it. It is understandable if you one of them. The law itself sounds dubious especially for the ones who do not really pay much interest in it. In this article, we will talk about the essence of the law of attraction and six steps to apply it into our lives.


In reality, nobody knows if the law works unless he or she makes use of it. We must apply it into our lives in order to realize the power of the law of attraction. Do you want to test? There are a few simple steps to test if the law works. When you test this on your own, you will understand why there are many claims on the good results provided by the law of attraction. The simple six steps include:


1. Decide what you want to happen.

Many people have not made decision what they want in life. They are not sure about why they do things. They don’t have their goals. Making decision is like making a commitment. You really want them to happen. Once you have made your decision, your destination for attraction will be clear. And you will be on way.


2. Believe that you are capable of reaching your goals.

You need to have faith in yourself. Before you set up ambitious goals, you need to believe that you have ability to perform what it takes to get you to where you want. You have to be certain without any doubt that you can achieve your goals.


3. Draw up your action plan in paper.

You need to know what to do to get what you want. Action plan is very essential to make the law of attraction works. The law of attraction doesn’t mean that you just sit and attract things into your life. It is about and taking action. Planning is very important for any action in any task you want to accomplish.


4. Take a lot of actions toward your goals.

Massive actions are needed to the achievement. Nobody can achieve anything unless he takes actions. Do according to your plan and adjust it along the way. The law of attraction will help you to have smoother path if you really focus on your goals.


5. Focus on your goals achievement.

This must be one of the most crucial points to make the law of attraction works. You need to think and act in the positive way. If you think and talk negatively, the law of attraction may work attracting what you don’t want into your life. This is why many people face some miserable results.


6. Visualize your success as it is happening now.

Visualize as you are achieving what you want in front of you at this moment. Feel it when you see the circumstance with your inner eyes. Visualization is one way to communicate with your subconscious mind. This will make your subconscious mind attract all the circumstances and attributes you want.


The law of attraction works when it is used by the right kind of people. It will not work especially for the ones who have no faith in it. You are using this law no matter if you believe it or not. If you do not believe in it, you will use and bear the fruit of the law negatively.
