This is from a newspaper article in Massachusettes. I just thought it was interesting. It’s a quote from a judge. I just thought it was apt for all the people who ask dumb questions like “why do you like tattoos, they are disgusting”, ad nauseum.
Court judge Barbara Rouse overturned the Massachusetts’ 38-year-old ban on tattooing last October, she issued a strong affirmation of free-speech rights. ” Tattooing is an ancient art form which has been practiced in virtually every culture for thousands of years, ” she wrote, noting that people ” obtain tattoos to demonstrate commitment to other persons, to institutions, to religious beliefs, and to political and personal beliefs. ” She added that the ban violated both the federal and state constitutions, asserting: ” I conclude that the act of tattooing … is expression protected by the First Amendment. ”

Our mind can rationalize anything. May of our seemingly unrelated actions have deep rooted causes. How then can we ever be free from always reacting. Even with awarness, how is it that we can be sure that what we are aware is not just simply another one of minds conditioning? Can we really ever act, instead of react? If not then would it mean that the subconcious mind conditioned itself on few core experiences and then from each subsequent incident took things to enforce its conditioning. So instead of eradicating all the subconcious conditioning we should focuse on the core programming instructions and become fully aware of those?
