What does dream means in general? Is it a manifestation of future events to happen in one”s life?

like veryone else, I have dreams, some of which to clear in settings and events. Some of them repeated over years of interval. Some say it’s the product of one’s thought before going asleep but sometimes i dream of thing/event that was totally or never have intertained in my mind
I mean…everyone…
